Happy New Year!

Greetings from Dyersville.

I hope your 2018 is starting off good. Here in Iowa we are very cold! A few weeks ago 30 degrees felt very cold and right now it would feel great! As I drove into work on January 2nd, the temperature outside was -17 degrees. With the exception of the 8 years I was in the military, I’ve spent my entire life in Iowa so I should be used to cold weather. Even still, it really feels cold outside.

Before Christmas I spotted a unique tractor sitting outside. It’s not very often you see a Case 970 Black Knight tractor, especially with a Case loader. This one is doing auger duty down by Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It looks in good shape even though it’s 47+ years old.

We have some great new product coming in early 2018 including the following: 1:32nd New Holland CR8.90 combine. This newly tooled combine is the current New Holland Class 8 machine. It features a 410 bushel grain tank and develops a maximum of 517 horsepower from its FPT Cursor 11 engine. This combine can also have the optional SmartTrax system for added traction and flotation. This item should start shipping in the middle of January.

1:64th Versatile 610DT Tracked Tractor. We’ve upgraded our 1/64th Delta Track model with the latest changes to the paint scheme and exhaust system. Versatile’s new look harkens back to the earlier black, yellow and red paint schemes from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Look for this item in early February.

1:64th John Deere Air Seeder Set. If you haven’t seen this set yet, you’re missing out. We’ve tooled an all new 5-section 1870 Air Hole Drill along with a C850 Air Cart. This is probably one of the largest 1:64th items we’ve ever tooled. In real life you would need a 600+ horsepower tractor just to pull it. This great set will be shipping shortly.

We also have two new 1:50th Case construction units hitting the docks in January. The latest Case CX210D Excavator model with updated graphics and paint scheme will be available later in January along with the Case 580 Super N WT Backhoe Loader.

Until next time.
