Early Fall Updates from ERTL Farm Toys

Greetings from Dyersville!

I can’t believe we’re in late September already!! Where has the summer gone? Things are looking good here. I just dug my potatoes, and the crop was decent considering how bad the bugs were. I planted both Yukon Gold and Kennebec this year. The consensus is that the Yukon Gold taste better, but the Kennebec yielded better. That’s about the way it works, isn’t it?

We’re seeing lots of chopping going on, and some high moisture corn being harvested. The soybeans are also starting to die and change color.

The local corn crop looks good. I pulled a couple of ears from the farm last week. The first frost typically arrives around the 2nd week of October here. We used our sweet corn stalks to make a shock by our 911 sign. I guess that means fall is right around the corner. Hopefully the weather allows for a nice harvest this year.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the Farm Progress Show this year due to another business trip, but several of our team members attended and were able to get the latest information on new products from several of the major manufacturers. Hopefully next year I can attend the show in person.

Switching over to toys, let’s start with New Holland. First, I want to talk about our updated 1:32nd BigBaler 340 PLUS baler (Stock # 13972). We’ve updated the tooling on the bale chamber to keep it as authentic as possible. It also features New Holland’s new paint scheme and graphics. This unit comes with 6 bales and hitches to most of our 1:32nd tractors and should start shipping at any time. We also have some new “pink” items coming out, one of which is our 1:64th GENESIS T8.380 tractor (Stock # 13997). This tractor features rear duals and single MFWD front axle in a special pink paint scheme. Check for this item at your local New Holland dealership starting in November.

We also have a new “pink” Case IH AFS Connect Magnum 340 tractor coming out (Stock # 44335). This features front and rear duals with a special pink paint scheme and will be coming out in November, 2022 at your local Case IH dealership. In addition to the Magnum, we have a 1:64th IH 6588 2+2 tractor with front and rear duals coming out in November as well (Stock # 44275). This tractor has an articulating frame and plenty of detail.

I don’t often talk about some of our Big Farm items, but I did want to mention that we have an updated Case IH Maxxum 150 remote control tractor (Stock # 47392) that has recently started shipping. This is a really fun tractor that attaches to most of our big Farm implements and also includes lights and sounds.

Switching over to John Deere, we’ve seen a delay in the shipment of our 1:16th John Deere “M” tractor with plow (Stock # 45788OTP). It will now likely ship in November. This tractor celebrates the 75th anniversary of the John Deere Dubuque Works. Keep on the lookout for this one-time production run unit. This item includes 75 randomly inserted gold chrome units.

Staying with John Deere, but changing colors, we have some new introductions on the construction side that we need to discuss. We have two newly tooled units to talk about. First is the 1:50th 460E-II Articulated Dump Truck (Stock # 45822). This dump truck features a lot of detail with a dump bed and opening tailgate that raising and lowers. Other features include and opening hood and panels and an articulating body. The other new tooling is our 1:50th 870 P-Tier Excavator (Stock # 45757). This is Deere’s largest excavator, weighing over 94 tons, capable of digging to a max depth of over 36 feet and powered by a 512 HP engine. Our replica features all the detail you would expect in a Prestige model, including die cast tracks, hydraulic hose detail, detailed cab, opening panels and all the functionality of the bucket and excavator arms. This item is shipping and available at your local John Deere dealership. We’ve also updated three additional construction models including the 210G LC (Stock # 45842) and 470 P-Tier (Stock # 45843) Excavators, along with the 544 P-Tier Wheel Loader (Stock # 45844) with updated graphics and paint scheme. All three of these updated models also feature randomly inserted “Black” chase units into the production run. All three of these units will be arriving at your local John Deere dealership shortly, with the Wheel Loader available in November.

Switching to Allis Chalmers, we have a 1:64th set coming out that includes our D-19 tractor on a fifth wheel trailer being pulled by a Ford F-350 featuring a special AC orange paint scheme (Stock # 16443). This unit is available through our TOMY Factory Outlet in Dyersville, IA. You can pre-order this by calling (563) 875- 5613. Speaking of the TOMY Factory Outlet Store, you can follow them on their new Facebook page- “TOMY Factory Outlet”.

Until next time,
