Greetings from Dyersville.

It’s hard to believe the Holidays are upon us and 2017 is coming to a close! Hopefully you have wrapped up harvest where you are from. I had a great time talking to everyone at the National Farm Toy Show.


Our showroom was busy all weekend long. We tried to answer everyone’s questions about the new product we displayed. We received many questions about the John Deere 100th Anniversary of tractors. These silver painted tractors are being produced in limited quantities. The 1:16th and 1:32nd models, including the Precision Waterloo Boy, will be limited to 2,018 units. The 1:64th sets will be limited to 5,000 pieces, and the 8400R pedal tractor is limited to only 1,000 units.

We also announced that we are stopping our current “Precision Elite” series tractors after #5 of each series. The John Deere 4320 was #5 of the series, and is sold out. On the Case IH side, we will be announcing #5 of the series in 2018. Don’t worry; we are not dropping our Precision line. We will have an entirely new series of Precisions for 2019. In other product news, we’ve just recently released our 2018 John Deere dealer catalog. You can download or view it at www.ertl.com under the catalogs section.

In addition, we are also happy to introduced some new 2018 farm show units for Case IH and New Holland that will be available at the spring shows. Case IH will be offering a 1:64th Quadtrac with the 175th Anniversary graphics and copper chase unit. (Stock # 44157A) New Holland is offering a 1:64th set honoring their “Genesis” tractors including a Ford 8970 and NH T8.435. There will be silver chrome chase tractors as well.

On a personal note I became a grandpa in late October. Lucy Louise Walters was born on October 27. Right now both of us have about the same amount of hair. I’m sure that will change soon enough for her, but not for me. It’s time for me to start adding some pink tractors to my collection.
