Bill's travels, Newest Product and Bring Your Kids to Work Day

Greetings from Dyersville.

Now that we’re into May, the temperatures are finally warming up. It’s finally warm enough for some field work and planting my garden. We just need some more heat to get the soil temperature up a little higher. Last month I visited the CNHi Industrial offices in Racine, WI. In their lobby they had several vintage models on display including an early pull type steam engine, Case 10-20 Crossmotor tractor and a model “CC” tractor. Many years ago I took a course on steam engines at the Mount Pleasant Iowa Old Thresher’s grounds. I’m amazed at the power you can get from steam, and also the safety issues. My key takeaway was to never run out of water as only bad things can happen from there.

We also hosted a “Bring your daughters and sons to work” day on April 26th. We had a great day talking about how we come up with our new ideas, all the steps it takes to make a toy happen, and all of the logistics involved. Perhaps I can provide you with some of this information as well in some upcoming blogs.

Let’s talk about some new items we have coming out. On the red side we have the Case IH 580 Steiger Quadtrac in 1:32nd scale (Stock # 44146) and also a new Case International 2594 1:16th model (Stock # 44139). Both of these models are 14+ collectible models.

For you green lovers, we have a special 1:32nd John Deere 8010 tractor that is being done in conjunction with the National Farm Toy Museum. (Stock # 45664A) This collector tractor (14+) features green wheel hubs, which were shown in archive pictures of an early experimental model. We’re also offering a toy 1:64th Hagie STS12 sprayer on a semi. (Stock # 45633). We should have some additional Hagie toy information to share with everyone later this year.

Until next time,

Bill
